How to store your tops for a winter season, well this is up for debate. Best we can tell you is what we recommend.
If you have the option to leave your top installed on the boat, then this is the best option with all connecting areas tight and in the right place. This will prevent as much contracting in the cold as possible.
If you must collapse your top, then we suggest taking your top home and storing in a warm dry area. Again, this is to prevent contraction.
No where to store them at home or warm. Lay them out, do not roll them up. Place cheap sheets in between window curtains to prevent scratching and them sticking together.
Tops do not shrink in the heat. In the cold they contract, in heat they expand. Problem is they do not always expand back to what they were. In the heat a top will get stiff as the clear vinyl windows will become stiff and sun burnt.
When putting your top back on in the spring, try to do it on a nice warm sunny day, connect at the top and pull/stretch back into place.
Happy boat and safe waters.
