Biminis are also known as sun-shades as that is exactly what they are. They are not for protection from weather as the typical install height is at a standing height, which allows slant rain to easily pass under it.

Our biminis are built tough, however that does not mean they are meant to be open while traveling at high speed. The bimini itself will not deflect the wind, it will in fact try to hold it like a sail. This could cause damage to the frame, material, zipper or worse …. your boat. They can be tipped down slightly to forward, trapping less wind, allowing for a faster speed.

When ordering your bimini we will ask you if you plan to later turn the bimini into part of an enclosure or if you plan to only ever have the bimini.
